भारतीय सेना की एक टुकड़ी भारत-थाईलैंड संयुक्त सैन्य अभ्यास 'मैत्री-XV' (MAITREE-XV 2026) के 15वें संस्करण में भाग लेने के लिए आज थाईलैंड के लिए रवाना हो गई है। इस महीने की 31 तारीख तक चलने वाले इस अभ्यास का उद्देश्य दोनों देशों के बीच सैन्य सहयोग (Military Cooperation) को बढ़ावा देना है।
⚔️ अभ्यास MAITREE-XV के मुख्य बिंदु:
- उद्देश्य और जनादेश: इसका प्राथमिक लक्ष्य संयुक्त राष्ट्र चार्टर के अध्याय 7 (Chapter 7 of UN Charter) के तहत जंगल और अर्ध-शहरी वातावरण में संयुक्त आतंकवाद रोधी (Counter-Terrorist) अभियानों को अंजाम देने की क्षमताओं को बढ़ाना है।
- भाग लेने वाले सैनिक: दोनों देशों के दल में 85-85 सैन्यकर्मी शामिल हैं। भारतीय सेना की टुकड़ी का प्रतिनिधित्व मुख्य रूप से '9 गोरखा राइफल्स' (9 Gorkha Rifles) के सैनिकों द्वारा किया जा रहा है, जबकि रॉयल थाई सेना की ओर से तीसरी बटालियन, 25वीं इन्फैंट्री ब्रिगेड, 5वीं डिवीजन के जवान शामिल हैं।
- प्रशिक्षण मॉड्यूल: इस कंपनी-स्तरीय संयुक्त प्रशिक्षण में फील्ड अभ्यास, युद्ध चर्चा, व्याख्यान, और नवीनतम उपकरणों व तकनीकों का प्रदर्शन शामिल होगा, जो संयुक्त अभियानों (joint operations) के दौरान इस्तेमाल की जाती हैं।
- पिछला संस्करण: इस महत्वपूर्ण द्विपक्षीय अभ्यास का पिछला (14वां) संस्करण पिछले साल सितंबर में भारत के मेघालय स्थित उमरोई (Umroi) के 'फॉरेन ट्रेनिंग नोड' में आयोजित किया गया था।

The Indian Army contingent has officially departed for Thailand to participate in the 15th edition of the India-Thailand Joint Military Exercise MAITREE-XV (2026). The exercise will run until the 31st of this month, aiming to foster deep military cooperation between the two nations.
⚔️ Key Highlights of Exercise MAITREE-XV:
- Objective & Mandate: The primary goal is to enhance combined capabilities in executing Joint Counter-Insurgency and Counter-Terrorist Operations in jungle and semi-urban environments, specifically mandated under Chapter 7 of the United Nations Charter.
- Participating Troops: Both contingents comprise 85 personnel each. The Indian side is proudly represented by troops from the 9 Gorkha Rifles, while the Royal Thai Army is represented by personnel from the 3rd Battalion, 25th Infantry Brigade, 5th Division.
- Training Modules: The comprehensive company-level training will include field exercises, combat discussions, tactical lectures, and a culminating validation exercise to showcase contemporary equipment and operational technologies.
- Previous Edition: The previous edition (14th) of this significant bilateral exercise was successfully conducted at the Foreign Training Node in Umroi, Meghalaya, in September last year.
