केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर विकास को तेज करने के लिए NIIF में 30 हजार करोड़ रुपये के अतिरिक्त निवेश को मंजूरी दी है। इसके साथ ही सरकार की कुल प्रतिबद्धता 60 हजार करोड़ रुपये हो गई है। इसका उपयोग परिवहन, ऊर्जा और ई-मोबिलिटी में निवेश के लिए 'NIIF इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर फंड II' स्थापित करने में किया जाएगा।

- शानदार ट्रैक रिकॉर्ड: NIIF का पूंजी नियोजन और रिटर्न के मामले में ट्रैक रिकॉर्ड बहुत मजबूत रहा है। इसने अब तक अपने बड़े पोर्टफोलियो से बाहर निकलकर (Portfolio exits) निवेशकों को लगभग 12 हजार करोड़ रुपये का शानदार रिटर्न दिया है।

नेशनल इन्वेस्टमेंट एंड इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर फंड (NIIF) भारत का 'सॉवरेन एंकर्ड फंड' है, जिसे नेशनल इन्वेस्टमेंट एंड इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर फंड लिमिटेड द्वारा पेशेवर रूप से चलाया और प्रबंधित किया जाता है। केंद्र सरकार NIIF में 49 प्रतिशत की शेयरधारक है और वर्तमान में यह अपने विभिन्न फंडों और निवेश रणनीतियों में लगभग 40 हजार करोड़ रुपये की पूंजी का प्रबंधन करता है।

The Union Cabinet has approved an additional ₹30,000 crore commitment to the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF), bringing the total to ₹60,000 crore. The allocation will launch NIIF Infrastructure Fund II, targeting sectors like energy, transport, and e-mobility.

- NIIF Infrastructure Fund II: According to the Finance Ministry, this additional capital will be specifically utilized to set up NIIF’s second infrastructure-focused fund. This new fund will act as the direct successor to its first flagship fund.
- Target Sectors: The NIIF Infrastructure Fund II is proposed to have a target corpus of close to ₹30,000 crore. It is expected to undertake robust investments across transportation, energy, digital infrastructure, and emerging sectors like urban infrastructure and e-mobility.
- Stellar Track Record: NIIF has demonstrated a highly successful track record of capital deployment and realisations. It has already returned close to 12 thousand crore rupees to its investors through large and profitable portfolio exits.

The National Investment and Infrastructure Fund is India’s premier Sovereign Anchored Fund, professionally run and managed by NIIF Limited. The Centre is a 49 per cent shareholder in NIIF, which currently manages massive capital commitments of approximately 40 thousand crore rupees across its diverse funds and investment strategies.
