दिल्ली सरकार ने सार्वजनिक बसों में मुफ्त यात्रा सुविधा का लाभ उठाने के लिए 'पिंक सहेली स्मार्ट कार्ड' (Pink Saheli Smart Card) के अनिवार्य उपयोग की समय सीमा इस महीने की 16 तारीख तक बढ़ा दी है। संशोधित फैसले के तहत, कंडक्टर 15 अगस्त तक पारंपरिक पिंक टिकट (Pink Tickets) जारी करना जारी रखेंगे।

- सुचारू बदलाव: दिल्ली के परिवहन मंत्री डॉ. पंकज कुमार सिंह ने कहा कि यह निर्णय स्मार्ट कार्ड-आधारित प्रणाली में सुचारू रूप से बदलाव (smooth transition) करने के लिए लिया गया है। यह सुनिश्चित किया जाएगा कि इस बदलाव के दौरान किसी भी महिला यात्री को गलत तरीके से मुफ्त यात्रा से वंचित न किया जाए।
- जागरूकता अभियान: मंत्री ने सभी डिपो प्रबंधकों, क्षेत्रीय प्रबंधकों और कंडक्टरों को जन जागरूकता अभियान तेज करने और संशोधित समय सीमा से पहले स्मार्ट कार्ड प्राप्त करने में महिला यात्रियों की सहायता करने का निर्देश दिया है।
- भारी उत्साह: इस डिजिटल पहल के प्रति महिला यात्रियों की शानदार प्रतिक्रिया देखने को मिली है। दिल्ली सरकार ने बताया कि आज तक कुल 17 लाख 4 हजार 42 (17,04,042) पिंक कार्ड जारी किए जा चुके हैं।

The Delhi Government has officially extended the deadline for the mandatory use of the Pink Saheli Smart Card for availing the free travel facility in its public buses till the 16th of this month. Under this revised decision, bus conductors will continue issuing the traditional pink tickets until August 15.

- Smooth Transition: Delhi Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh stated that the extension aims to facilitate a smooth transition to the smart card-based system, ensuring that no eligible commuter faces inconvenience or is wrongly denied free travel during the changeover.
- Public Awareness: The Minister has directed all depot managers, regional managers, and conductors to intensify public awareness campaigns and actively assist women passengers in obtaining their smart cards before the revised deadline.
