महत्वपूर्ण सीमा प्रबंधन पर केंद्रित भारत-नेपाल संयुक्त कार्य समूह (JWG) की 14वीं बैठक आज आधिकारिक तौर पर उत्तराखंड के देहरादून में शुरू हुई। यह दो दिवसीय उच्च स्तरीय कूटनीतिक संवाद सीमा पार गतिशीलता को सुव्यवस्थित करने और आपसी सुरक्षा को मजबूत करने के लिए आयोजित किया जा रहा है।

- प्राथमिक फोकस क्षेत्र: बैठक के मुख्य एजेंडे में मजबूत सीमा सुरक्षा तंत्र स्थापित करना, सीमा पार बुनियादी ढांचे (infrastructure) के विकास में तेजी लाना और आपसी हित के अन्य महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों का समाधान करना शामिल है।
- भारतीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल: भारतीय पक्ष का नेतृत्व रणनीतिक रूप से भारत सरकार के गृह मंत्रालय (MHA) में संयुक्त सचिव पॉलमी बसु (Pausumi Basu) द्वारा किया जा रहा है।
- नेपाली प्रतिनिधिमंडल: हिमालयी राष्ट्र का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हुए, नेपाली प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व नेपाल के गृह मंत्रालय में संयुक्त सचिव आनंद काफ्ले (Anand Kafle) कर रहे हैं।
🌐 खुली सीमा की गतिशीलता का प्रबंधन
भारत और नेपाल लगभग 1,751 किलोमीटर लंबी एक अनूठी, खुली सीमा साझा करते हैं। हालांकि यह 'नेबरहुड फर्स्ट' (पड़ोसी प्रथम) नीति के तहत गहरे सांस्कृतिक और आर्थिक एकीकरण की सुविधा प्रदान करता है, लेकिन यह सीमा पार तस्करी और मानव तस्करी जैसी अनूठी सुरक्षा चुनौतियां भी पैदा करता है। इस छिद्रपूर्ण (porous) सीमा को सुरक्षित करने के लिए समन्वित बुनियादी ढांचे और संयुक्त सतर्कता तंत्र विकसित करने हेतु नियमित JWG बैठकें अत्यंत आवश्यक हैं।
