आवास और शहरी मामलों के मंत्री मनोहर लाल ने 'नमो भारत दिवस 2026' को संबोधित किया। 82 किलोमीटर लंबे दिल्ली-गाजियाबाद-मेरठ कॉरिडोर ने अपनी शुरुआत से अब तक 4.5 करोड़ से अधिक यात्रियों को सफलतापूर्वक सेवाएं प्रदान की हैं।
आवास और शहरी मामलों के मंत्री मनोहर लाल ने नई दिल्ली में 'नमो भारत दिवस 2026' (Namo Bharat Diwas 2026) को संबोधित किया। यह आयोजन रैपिड रेल के संचालन के तीन सफल वर्ष पूरे होने के उपलक्ष्य में मनाया गया। मंत्री महोदय ने कहा कि नमो भारत रैपिड रेल (RRTS) भारत में "क्षेत्रीय कनेक्टिविटी के एक नए युग" की शुरुआत कर रही है, जो आधुनिक और सुरक्षित परिवहन प्रणालियों में लोगों के बढ़ते विश्वास को दर्शाता है।
- यात्रियों का भारी आंकड़ा: अपनी शुरुआत से अब तक, 82 किलोमीटर लंबे दिल्ली-गाजियाबाद-मेरठ कॉरिडोर ने 4.5 करोड़ से अधिक यात्री यात्राएं (passenger journeys) दर्ज की हैं।
- दैनिक आवाजाही: नमो भारत वर्तमान में प्रतिदिन 1.1 लाख से अधिक यात्रियों को सेवाएं प्रदान कर रही है। हाल ही में इसने एक दिन में लगभग 1.68 लाख यात्रियों का अपना सर्वकालिक उच्च रिकॉर्ड (highest single-day ridership) दर्ज किया है।
- चरणबद्ध संचालन (Phased Operationalization): इस महत्वाकांक्षी परियोजना की शुरुआत अक्टूबर 2023 में हुई थी, जब पीएम मोदी ने साहिबाबाद और दुहाई डिपो के बीच 17 किलोमीटर लंबे 'प्राथमिकता खंड' (Priority Section) का उद्घाटन किया था। इसके बाद से पूरे कॉरिडोर को चरणबद्ध तरीके से चालू किया गया।
- मेरठ मेट्रो के साथ एकीकरण: निर्बाध मल्टीमॉडल कनेक्टिविटी सुनिश्चित करते हुए, प्रधानमंत्री ने हाल ही में पूरे 82 किलोमीटर लंबे नमो भारत कॉरिडोर को मेरठ मेट्रो (Meerut Metro) के साथ एकीकृत कर राष्ट्र को समर्पित किया था।

Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal addressed the Namo Bharat Diwas 2026 event in New Delhi, celebrating the successful completion of three years of the rapid rail's operations. The Minister declared that the Namo Bharat rapid rail is officially ushering in a "new era of regional connectivity" across India, reflecting growing public trust in modern, safe, and seamless mass transit systems.
- Massive Ridership Milestones: Since its inception, the 82-km-long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor has recorded an impressive over 4.5 crore passenger journeys.
- Daily Commuter Traffic: The rapid rail network currently serves over 1.1 lakh commuters daily. Recently, the corridor recorded its highest-ever single-day ridership, peaking at around 1.68 lakh passengers.
- Phased Operationalization: The journey began in October 2023 when PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the initial 17-km Priority Section connecting Sahibabad and Duhai Depot. The corridor has since been made fully operational in phases.
- Integration with Metro: Highlighting seamless multimodal connectivity, the Prime Minister recently dedicated the fully completed 82-km Namo Bharat corridor to the nation, thoughtfully integrated with the local Meerut Metro network.
